Just as the Earth has cycles and seasons, the sun’s energy output also changes on a 11-year basis. We call these changes the solar cycle. Forecasters expect this solar cycle to end in 2018 and the next to slowly begin in 2026… so this is probably our last chance to blast under the Northern Lights for 11 years!

 

✺ Back to the Arctic Circle in Sweden, to our secret auroric hideout

. Travel isn’t to remember when all we do is eat and take pictures. Blast trips gather beautiful people for meaningful enjoyment. Come learn and experience something new.

• Accommodation for the entire trip
  • . Accommodation fee included. Each room contains two beds max. Double beds available upon request
  • . Choose to stay over the weekend or for the entire week until the Spring Equinox
  • . Check-in on Friday the 16th of March, check-out on Wednesday the 21st of the following week

• Transportation
  • . Flight tickets going from Geneva to Kiruna and return
    . If you’re coming from other city than Geneva, we’ll organise to welcome you in Stockholm airport and make the connection with us. You’ll be asked CHF 1420.- instead of 1600.-
    . Road transportation fees included

✺ With or without the lights, the splendour of the Arctic Circle

Many people think the Solar Minimum brings a period of pitch black quiet. Actually, as the extreme ultraviolet sun emission decreases,
the upper atmosphere of the Earth cools and collapses. This allows all the interstellar space to accumulate and get closer around our planet; galactic cosmic rays penetrate the inner solar system and our atmosphere with surprising ease. With or without the beauty of the aurora borealis, it’s definitely worth doing the journey, opening us to a giant source of inspiration.

✺ What to bring

The Arctic Circle is dry cold so it won’t feel that cold. Expect -15°C when in fact it’ll be -30°C!
Bring winter gear. We’ll be in the middle of nowhere in the Swedish steppes so bring snack bars and/or instant soup. We’ll give you more data after you register

1600 chf including flight tickets from Geneva, road transport, lodging and activities.
Pay a deposit of 400 chf now and complete the payment later if needed
